Holistic Therapies

Do you feel tired, stressed and out of balance? You are definitively not alone: in modern society, imbalance is the norm. We speed our way through life as if there is no tomorrow, and the demands of the high-speed 20th century techno-generation are taking their toll on the delicate and intricate human body. The majority of us are on the edge of ill-health, in a state of dis-ease and imbalance, finding it difficult to cope with the stress of day-to day life. Many of the ills of modern man cannot be cured by artificial drugs, drugs are more inclined to damage and suppress than heal. The body can and does heal itself, if given the chance. As this healing power lies within, we should learn to support and nurture it, not suppress it. Reiki helps us do this by activating our body's natural healing powers and working to re-establish the equilibrium necessary for normal functioning. The most important step towards achieving balance is to reduce tension and induce relaxation. Reiki is the first step to normalization. When the body is relaxed, circulation can flow and supply nutrients and oxygen necessary to the cells, and body organs can then return to a normal state and function efficiently. Because Reiki reduces the negative effects of stress and helps the body normalize, it helps ward off the potential of more lethal disease. Reiki is a holistic therapy, based on energy being transferred from the healer to the patient, and as such, aims to treat the body as a whole, endeavoring to get to the root cause of disease and treat this, not the symptoms alone. It is imperative to be willing to 'let go' of disease. A Reiki practitioner will be compassionate, caring and dedicated to the client's welfare, but no practitioner can decide for the client that he or she is going to get well. Reiki is not magic or any kind of short-cut, the role of Reiki is to facilitate healing. Reiki opens up the body's dynamic energy field, energizing the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental aspects of the body. We are all easily thrown off balance by stress, attitude, lifestyle and diet. Reiki helps return the body to a dynamic state of balance.
Apart from caring for the body by eating more sensibly, exercising and calming the mind and body through relaxation and meditation techniques, visits to a Reiki practitioner as extra 'maintenance' can be of enormous benefit. Try Reiki, do it for yourself. It is totally safe and harmless, even if you are pregnant. You will feel the difference, I do! I welcome you to feel the gentle touch of Reiki and let the healing begin.
